Beach Bungalow Rentals Florida

Some history on the older “Beach Bungalow’s” on Pass-a-Grille and how even the current newer houses try to stay beachy with that Beach Bungalow vibe. Pass-a-Grille came from the French word for “Passe Aux Grilleurs” which means the passageway of the grillers. This name was used to describe the many fishermen who used the land on the tip of the island as a camp and grilled fish there and eventually started to build the “Beach Bungalows” to stay after fishing all day. Our Bungalow was actually built before the city record fire that destroyed all the history of each home in 1925. It was actually dated back to 1908 that Judge Joe Brown had lived in our Beach Bungalow “which is now the “SeaHorse Bungalow” today.

He was an avid fisherman and spent his weekends living there with his family and fished many long hours in Pass-a-Grille.

Its that old French vibe cozy, simple style with characteristics of old French living with lattice work open and airy with simple designs that show coastal colors. Despite its numerous influences, “Beach Bungalow” style revolves around one main element: simplicity. Just the right number of trinkets and textures convey nostalgia. The French architectural elements are able to breathe, vintage and do it yourself statement furnishings shine — all amidst a mix of bright, homemade and natural. It’s a familiar simplicity that as soon as you step inside you feel welcomed and warmed by the neutral colors and designs that make you feel happy and comfortable and ready to be sandy at the beach or spend the day fishing and enjoying the “Beach Bungalow” warm feel.
