What's Happening on Pass-a-Grille This Summer
Posted by Southern Pass-A-Grille Beach House Bungalows
A quiet summer afternoon on Pass-a-Grille. This is the water you came for.
Summer on Pass-a-Grille has a rhythm all its own. The crowds thin out, the water turns that clear Gulf green, and the island slows down to the pace it was always meant to move at. Wake up, walk to the Seahorse for breakfast, spend the day on one of the top-rated beaches in the country, and stay out for a sunset that will stop you in your tracks.
If you're planning a trip down this summer, here's what's going on around the island and the surrounding area over the next few weeks. And keep reading, because there's a discount code at the bottom for your stay with us.
Sip & Stroll on Corey Avenue
Friday, June 26, 5:00 to 8:00 PM · Corey Avenue, St. Pete Beach
This is the one to build your weekend around. On the last Friday of the month, Corey Avenue closes to traffic for a free evening stroll with drink specials, tastings, and rotating experiences from the local shops and restaurants up and down the strip. The lineup changes every month, so even if you've done it before, you haven't done this one. It's a short, easy trip from the island and a perfect way to spend a summer evening before heading back to the beach for sunset.
Sunset on the Gulf. Pass-a-Grille faces due west, so you get this every clear night.
Live Music at Jimmy B's Beach Bar
Daily · St. Pete Beach
Just up the beach, Jimmy B's runs live music nearly every day, from midday acoustic sets to high-energy bands at night. It's a reliable, walkable spot for a beer and a song with your feet near the sand. Check their calendar for who's playing during your stay.
St. Pete Pride Weekend
June 26 to 28 · Downtown St. Petersburg
One of the largest Pride celebrations in the Southeast takes over downtown St. Pete with parades, waterfront concerts, markets, and street fairs. Most of it is free to attend. It's about a 25-minute drive from the island, and the SunRunner transit line makes it easy to get there without parking downtown.
World Cup Watch Parties
Through late June · St. Petersburg
The World Cup is on, and downtown St. Pete is hosting watch parties as Team USA moves through the group stage. Ferg's and Jannus Live have both been drawing big, lively crowds. If you want to catch a match in a real atmosphere, this is the spot.
Saturday Morning Market
Saturday mornings · St. Petersburg
A St. Pete institution. Local produce, food vendors, makers, and live music make for an easy Saturday morning before you head back to the beach. A nice change of pace if you want to mix a little city into your beach week.
Pass-a-Grille is a favorite for beach weddings. You'll often catch one at golden hour.
The Best Show on the Island Is Free
Every clear evening, the whole island drifts toward the water to watch the sun drop into the Gulf. Bring a chair, bring a drink, and find a spot on the sand. There's no schedule and no ticket. It happens every single night, and it never gets old.
