The designated Pass-A-Grille Dog Beach sits on the bay side at the end of Pass-A-Grille Way, between roughly 1st and 3rd Avenues (locals will point you toward the access near 2nd Avenue). It's the only spot in St. Pete Beach where dogs are officially allowed on the sand, so it's become a beloved gathering place for visiting and local pups alike. Your dog can splash in the shallow water and dig in the sand to their heart's content.
A few things worth knowing before you go:
- Dogs must be kept on a leash no longer than eight feet whenever they're off your rental property — this applies throughout the city.
- With the exception of the designated dog beach, dogs are not permitted on the main Gulf-side sand beaches, so plan your pup's beach time accordingly.
- The dog beach is free to enter, with metered parking on Pass-A-Grille Way — though if you're staying with us, you can simply walk over.
- There are no restrooms at the dog beach, so plan ahead.
- Always bring water, a bowl, and waste bags. Florida sun is no joke, even for a quick outing.
Fort De Soto Paw Playground: A Short Drive to Doggy Paradise
